Evita

Evita logoThe NZ Herald states...

"the revival of the Rice-Webber musical about that most manipulative Argentinian glamourpuss is made sexy and strong in the hands of lead, Josie Walker, and a charismatic cast."

The Press (Christchurch) critic wrote "This show is just brilliant. Superb singing, wonderful theatrical effects, and a full-blooded band is not to be missed."

And Wellington's DominionPost writes "it was good to see a new and exciting slant on what is clearly Lloyd Webber's - and Rice's - best work", whilst the Capital Times wrote "This new production of Evita is extremely successful in every aspect - well conceived and handled by cast, crew and production team."

The seasons in Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin & Wellington have already been played, and tickets are selling fast for the remaining shows in Hawke's Bay THIS WEEK at Napier's Municipal Theatre. (See schedule under "more details" for the entire national itinerary.)

Critics and audiences alike have praised this production highly, with the NZ Herald calling it "stylish and sexy" with Josie Walker a "powerhouse" whilst the National Business Review said "She's A Diamond".

Ticketek offices anywhere are able to assist you NOW with ticket purchases.

The fabulous cast is headed by JOSIE WALKER, star of many shows in London's West End (including Grizabella in CATS, Christine in PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and Mary in THE BEAUTIFUL GAME) who will play Eva, Canadian RICK MILLER as Che (who was last seen in Auckland in late 2003 as the brilliant MACHOMER), award-winning Kiwi GEORGE HENARE (as Peron), 18-year-old Idol finalist JESSIE CASSIN as The Mistress, and GRANT BRIDGER as nightclub singer Magaldi. At selected matinees the role of Eva is played by ALI HARPER.
