Cynthia Fortitude's first Farewell Tour is playing a brief season at Wellington's Soundings Theatre in the Te Papa building. The character of Cynthia has long been created by the wonderful Helen Moulder, and this particular show is indeed a triumph. She is aided and abetted by the very talented Jeff Kingsford Brown, and the Wellington Chamber Orchestra, with overall mayhem directed by the devilish (but knows-what-he's-doing) Danny Mulherron.
A really entertaing 90 minutes of theatrical fun. On Opening Night it seemed they were caught by the level of audience response, and so encore'd the only questionable ending which was low-key. For preference I would rather they went out on a high. But that's a small quibble.
