It was a fabulous weekend to have been in sunny Wellington, last weekend. The sun shone, the Cuba Street Carnival was very vibrant and attracted thousands to all the 'free' activities, the family event Sunday of "biking around the Bays and the waterfront" was blessed with briliant sunshine too, but the highlight was the inaugural VIDEO GAMES LIVE on Saturday night in the TSB Bank Arena. The audience enthusiastically received this amazing show combining footage of major video games with 'live' performances by the 60-piece Vector Wellington Orchestra, and the 20-piece Chapman Tripp Opera Chorus. The sound was really punchy, with strong vocals, and the images very effective.
More to see this week at Circa, and then - by way of something different - we have 2 concerts next Monday and Tuesday in Hamilton and Auckland by skate-punk band, MXPX, with Christian sensitivities.
